Stitching catch up

OK, so 2015 wasn't a big stitching year, but I did have one last stitching finish. An owl scissor keep, a cover kit from one of the mags. Gave this to my niece for her birthday.

Well, I admit it - I've been lazy with the posting lately, but not with the crafting, so here comes the catch up. First the knitting:

More charity hats

Working on using my left over yarn so made these three hats in different sizes, for charity. The red, white and blue is made using helix knitting (search on youtube), a very neat way of knitting stripes without getting the jog on the back. You also get a cool swirl on the top. My dad is modelling the orange one :). Finished 2nd August 2015

Travelling HDs

These pieces were all stitched or started on my summerhols in Canada. They are all cover kits from one of the mags, and I've changed the fabby as per usual.

Arte nouveau bookmark.
All mine! Finished 11th July 2015.

Time for tea bookmark.
Finished 14th July 2015.

Ring of roses.
Especially pleased with the fabby change on this one as it enabled me to carry the thread on the back without showing, more than white would. Boring enough design if I didn't have to fast all threads on every flower! Plus I think it's more striking in black. Will become a lavender pouch.
Finished 18th July 2015.

Knitted hats Marius

Sunday, June 07, 2015 Posted In , Edit This 0 Comments »

Two knitted hats in a traditional, and very popular, Norwegian pattern called Marius. It was originally used for sweaters, but there's a craze on at the moment and it's now used for everything - knitted or not (everyone here knows what the Marius pattern is). The one with the blue as the main colour is the original version, the other is a variation. These two are for my Canadian relatives that I'm staying with in July. He's born of Norwegian parents and they are both very connected to Norway so I thought it was apt. Plus of course - Canada gets cold in winter. Finished 7/6-15

Another mini Permin. Really enjoy these. Goodbye pressie for Egil, super volunteer at work. Finished 5th March.

Another mini baby top for charity. Getting the hang of it now. Finished 27th February

Mini baby socks for charity. They turn out nice, but I didn't enjoy them at all, so will use another oattern next time. Finished 28th February.

And my 4th March progress. Almost embarrasing, but I've been busy with the Easter exchange piece.

Baby bliss knitting

Recently I have been knitting more and more, and I thought I would have a go at some baby things. Really enjoyed these patterns as they have a lot going on, but are small and quick to finish, and the yarn was yummy. I made these for my good friend Lene's baby Alma. Both patterns are from the Norwegian book "strikk meir til nøstebarn", but knitted in Dale mini alpakka. Hat finished 6th, booties 7th Feb 2015.

Two small HDs

This is mini Permin kit that I have actually stitched once before. Couldn't resist picking a couple of them up on sale though, even if I had stitched this design before. Really like these, and they make for fun travel projects. Finished 19th. January 15.

The next one is my first piece for the Twelve months of Christmas SAL 2015. It's one of four designs from a Danish magazine, I might do the others as well as I find them very cute and to my taste. Finished 21st January 2015.

Guelder rose fairy

This is a cover kit that I have adapted. Stitched as petit point over one, I have a couple of these mini fairies now that I will do something pretty with at some point (no pun intended). Finished 10th January 2015
