The Canterbury Bell Fairy

Canterbury Bells-
Give their name to summer flowers-
Canterbury Bells!
Do the flower-fairies, playing,
Know what those great bells are saying?
Fairy, in your purple hat,

Mine are pink or purple flowers-

When I set them all a-swaying,

This was originally a cover kit, but I stitched it over one on 25 count which makes it really small and pretty. It's only about 2 inches by 2 inches.

I think it looks so fantastic. My colours were white and black plus the metallic thread that is in a burgundy colour - DMC E3685.

Well, this is my new UFO piece. It's a Christmas Calendar that I inherited from a friend of my mum's a few years ago. It's a bit of a mess, and she stitches her crosses the opposite way to what I do - so I have to stitch it sideways, oh and the chart is probably the worst I have ever worked with, but I thought I better finally get started on it - perfect for UFO nigth, right? So here it is, before and after my first UFO night

I made these for the Easter exchange, my recieving partner was Maddy. The designs were from one of the mags, I added the border and had a go at this new kind of finishing - which I quite enjoyed.

Why am I "Candytuft"?
That I don't know!
Maybe all the fairies
First called me so;
Maybe all the children,
Just for a joke;
(I'm in the gardens
Of most little folk).
Look at my clusters!
See how they grow;
some pink or purple,
some white as snow;
Petals uneven,
Big ones and small;
Not very tuffy -
No candy at all!

This is Cut Thru' Fairy Hill from Bothy Threads, my new UFO piece. As you can see I didn't get very far with this when I first started, but it's been lying in my drawer bugging me for too long now, so I thought I better get it going. I think it was a case of "bored with Aida" that stopped me last time, but once I got going this week it was a fun piece to work on - nice with big chunks of colour for a change.

Changed my UFO this week - needed a break from that ruddy Cirque des cercles.
This is Orchid - a Cols Creation design. I love this, but it has just taken the back seat with lots of other pieces that needed working on - hope to make up for it now :-)
