Lions go roar

Monday, November 24, 2014 Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »
Stitched this to the director of the show I did this autumn. This just suited her, cause she's fierce as a lion, but also fun and playful. The design is one of six from one of the mags. I will finish it as a fridge magnet. Finished 23rd November 2014

Street light candle wrap

Saw this in a mag and had to stitch it, love the simplicity of the design and DMC 996 must be one of the prettiest colours about. Might have to keep this for myself :). Finished 3rd September 2014

More woolie hats

Sunday, August 31, 2014 Posted In Edit This 1 Comment »
This was the week for woolie hats.

First one I stitched for my good friend Eli as she hinted at wanting one, and she looks stunning in blue. Finished 25th Aug 14.

Second - my first two premature baby woolie hats. I thought I'd give these a go as they are always needed in hospitals for premature babies. Found a really nice recipe with variations and these are two of them. Will be stitching more of these and maybe some socks, blankets and tops to go with them. Blue finished 27th Aug and pink finished 30thAug 2014

One stitch HD and one knit

Stakkeband. I'm designing my own "stakk", a slightly less fancy Norwegian national costume than the bunad. And I'm doing a musically themed one, which I've never seen before. This is the hemline, just finished it. Now on to the next bit. The song is "Hallingvisa" a local folk song. Finished 22nd Aug 2014

Needed a quick and easy knit for a coach trip today. Made it up as I went along, inspired by mountains and stars - quite happy with it. The bottom white has reflective thread knitted into it. Finished 24th Aug 2014

Popcorn

A small design from one of the mags for the ACN charity quilt. These type of designs are so boring to stitch, but I guess all for a good cause :). Finished 2nd August 2014.

Bunny charms and be true

Sunday, July 27, 2014 Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »
I haven't had the "small HD mojo" for ages, but seem to be in the middle of one right now. So here's a couple from the last couple of days:

The first is two bunny charms for necklaces. Saw these in a mag and since I had a couple of small bits of plastic canvas left over, I thought I would stitch up a couple. Took no time at all and I think they're very cute. Finished 24th July 2014.

The second is Be True by LHN. Lovely little design that I finally got around to. Slight personal alteration as I turned the flower blue instead of the excisting white. Finished 25th July 2014.

Hedgehog

Mini HD that's been bugging me to get done for ages. Cover kit from one of the mags. Was meant to be used for one of the ACN charity quilts, but it's been a while since we did one, so I guess we'll see if it ends up there or for something else. Finished 23rd July 2014.

Sarah Kay

Thursday, July 24, 2014 Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »

This is a Sarah Kay design from one of the mags, stitched for the baby of friends of mine, due in October. I stitched another Sarah Kay design for their oldest, two years ago, and thought this was an apt follow up as there'll be two little girls now. I loved these designs when I was a kid and naturally therefore still do. Finished 17th July 2014.

Well, I finished Northwood Farm this week, so here's my new piece. It's a HAED BAP called Puck, I made a start on this some time ago, but took a break since I have to use a stand to work it. Good to get back to it though, and did 7 squares of 10 x 10 this week. Only 35 pages to go :)

A John Clayton design from Heritage crafts. Really loved working on this and it took no time at all really. Wish there were more designs like this about, it's suits my taste perfectly. Will definitely keep this for myself!

First of 2014

Sunday, January 12, 2014 Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »
A couple of small HDs to start off the new year. These were both freebies in one of the mags, in the Country Diary of an Edwardian Lady series.

The first finished 10th January2014

The second finished 12th January 2014

2013 Round up

Sunday, January 05, 2014 Posted In Edit This 0 Comments »
The end of 2013 flew by, but I did get some stuff done, and here it is:

Hard to make out, but a knitted set of wrist warmers and a "neck tube". Long overdue birthday pressie for my friend May Kristin (that neck thing was a lot more work than I thought it would be...). Feast your eyes on the crocheted edges of the wrist warmers, never been able to do crocheting before, so especially happy about that. Finished 20th Dec 2013

My little Christmas finish this year. A small Permin kit I picked up in Denmark this autumn. Finished 28th Dec 2013

My special scarf/necklace thingie. It's called something difficult in Japanese that sounds like Sudoku, so that's what I usually call it. Apparently it means worm. A lot of knitting back and forth (which was a bit annoying in the end), but it turned out quite fun and different. Love the wool. Finished 30th Dec 2013

A wooly hat for my granddads 89th birthday in January. My first attempt at knitting pattern, but turned out quite well I thought :). Finished 31st Dec 2013

I have also knitted about a hundred (well, OK 10-15) wash cloths and a wooly hat for my dad (finished 9th Oct for Norwegian Father's day), but no pic of those yet - I'll see if I can get them done.

A fairly slow year, but must say I have finished a couple of whoppers stitching wise, and as you see - way into the knitting by the end of it too! Never thought that would happen. Also finally cracked the crocheting code, so have a fair few granny squares and more will come.

Now for a new year and new challenges and crafty joys! Join me?
